How To Have A Quiet Time
I. GETTING STARTED
A. GOAL: Understand your GOAL. Your goal is to become complete in Christ, (Col. 1: 28), or to say it another way, to become a mature person, i.e. a person whose attitudes and actions are like Christ's. (Eph. 4: 13)
B. PROCESS:Understand the PROCESS. An essential step toward reaching the above goal is to spend personal, daily time with God.
C. PLAN:PLAN ahead. Sit down on Sunday and decide exactly what paragraphs or chapters you will be studying during each of the next seven days. Doing this will eliminate the problem of spending half your altar time trying to decide what you will study that day.
D. CONTENT: Put VARIETY and CONSISTENCYin what you study. One month you might study an Epistle. Then you might spend a month or two in a biographical passage such as I Samuel. Then you might go back to the N. T. to study a doctrinal passage such as Romans. Then maybe switch again to a Minor prophet. In your study of a year or two be mindful of dealing with the entire Bible and not just one section, such as the Epistles.
E: FOCUS:Usually it's good to spend most of your altar times closely examining a few verses. Some find it best to set aside one day a week to switch from taking detailed notes on a few verses to reading a chapter or two from a different section of Scripture without taking any notes.
F: MATERIALS:Buy a three-ring notebook that can be used exclusively for things to do with your relationship to God and to other believers. Make a special section in that book entitled " Altar Times."
G. PLACE OR LOCA TION:Select a quiet place where you can study. Remove all distractions, e.g. close the drapes, shut the door, clear all busy work from your desk, take the phone off the hook, whatever. Be serious about meeting God.
H. TIME:Select a time. Usually the early morning is best, because outside distractions are least during this time.
Set aside "x" number of minutes to study, and "y" number of minutes to pray. Be flexible to the Spirit's leading within this framework. !
II. HELPFUL HINTS
A. Desire versus will. Often you will not desire to spend time studying the Word. At these times, remind yourself of your goal; then will (determine) to do what you know is best rather than what you feel.
B. Realize that you cannot force God to bless you. Approach your altar realizing and confessing that even in this area you are totally dependent on Him (Ps. 127) for His blessings.
C. Keep a mental dialogue going between you and God as you study; e.g. "Lord, I don't understand this," or, "Lord, I praise you because. . .," or "Lord, how can I apply this?"
D. If you feel your altar time lacks life (is dry, boring), share that fact with the Lord (Ps. 62) and with a friend, asking him or her to pray for you.
E. Discipline yourself to do much writing. Doing So will deepen your understanding of the passage as well as bring organization to your though ts.
F. Use Webster's Dictionary. It will help you understand many words like grace, forbearance, humility, and propitiation.
G. Buy a good Bible commentary such as "The New Bible Commentary I" D. Guthrie, ed., Eerdmans, 1970. Do not become depending on this commentary for your personal nourishment; just use it to clarify hazy points.
III. PROCESS - USING YOUR STUDY TIME TO THE MAXIMUM
A. Praise the Lord for who He is - pray, sing, write, etc.
B. Confess known sin.
C. Select a process you will use to study the passage, See book, "Into Thy Word".
Here is a simple inductive approach: "2 PROAPT." *
The 2 PROAPT process:
1 . Pray.
2. Preview - read the entire passage rapidly.
3. Read the entire passage slowly.
4. Observe
What does the text say? Copy verbatim the words of the text. Biblical Principles are here.
What does the text mean? Write any and every thought the Lord gives you on the meaning or implications of the text. Ask who, what, why, where, when, how, of the text. Biblical Implications are here.
Apply these principles and implications to your life.
Summarize the passage with a brief phrase.
Pray in thanks, or confession, or praise, or supplication.
Tell at least one friend what you learned from the Word.
IV. VARIETY- Try using different methods of study. Remember - you are working on developing a relationship.
Make the process enjoyable. Suggestions:
A. Take the first five minutes of your altar time to read a Psalm. Whenever the Psalmist states who God is as a person or what God does as God, pause and praise God for that fact.
B. Take a day or two each month to study in a different environment, e.g. study in a local library, or in a park, by a lake.
C. Do a character study, e.g., .'What do I learn about David in I and II Samuel?" or, "What did Jesus do to demonstrate compassion for people?" or, "How did Paul speak of other people?"
D. Do a topical study, e.g., .'What does the Scripture teach about dating? About possessions? About leadership?"
E. Do an attitude study, e.g., "What was Jesus' attitude toward the Pharisees? Toward interruptions?"
V. APPLICATIONS
A. You'll never come to experience the full value of an altar time until you discipline yourself to apply what you've learned. Study with the determination that God will give you an application.
B. Make your applications measurable. Think through the when, where, what, why, and how, e.g., "1 will begin showing more love to my neighbor, Elma Jones, by asking her if there is anything I can pick up for her from the store when I go shopping Monday."
C. At times you will see 4 or 5 specific ways the passage you studied can be applied. It is better to select one way you want to apply the Word that day and do it than to select three ways and fail. Work first on the area where you need most help.
D. Make most of your applications short-range, e.g. things you will do within the next 24 hours or within the next three days. Periodically God will give you an application that you'll need to work on for a longer period of time. When that happens, rejoice; but at the same time, continue to work on fresh, short-range applications.-Let God do a new work in you each day, and be thankful.

Little by Little
Is there something you would like to accomplish in life but simply cannot find the hours in the day to get started? Many of us suffer from procrastination. We justify putting our dreams aside because we don't believe we have the time or resources to accomplish the task.
Many times people tell me they believe they are called to write a book. I tell them, "Great, if God has called you to write a book, begin to write it." Sometimes the response is: "But I don't have a publisher." "That has nothing to do with it," I say. "That is not your problem. If God calls you to write a book, you are to begin to write. You may not be writing to get published. You may be writing for other purposes."
"The LORD your God will drive out those nations before you, little by little" (Deut 7:22). If God has given you a vision to do something, begin by taking baby steps toward that project. Begin to focus on the vision and take action steps toward it. Many times people ask me, "How in the world do you have time to write? You travel so much and seem to have such a full schedule." My answer to them is that I have a specific time of day in which I commit to writing. It is usually between 5 AM and 8 AM. I have found this to be my most creative and productive time. Very little can get in the way of this time if I believe God has given me a project to do.
You will be amazed at what God can do with a little each day. Do not let procrastination prevent you from accomplishing what God may want to do through your life. Make plans today to take baby steps toward the vision that is in your heart.

BYBS - Inspiring People Around Me
There were times in my life I felt desperate walking with Jesus. I thought as if I was the only one who keep up the biblical lifestyle. So, the complains, the murmuring, the dissapointment to be a true Christian had begun. I started to look at anybody around me and demand perfection. And when I found there were none there, I shut down myself and felt paralyze. Paralyzed in my spirituality, in my way of thinking, in my faith, in my ministry, paralyzed in many aspects of my life.
Yeah, probably we are the ones to be the pattern we look for. Instead of seeking for any good pattern, perhaps becoming ones are the best way to keep up good work in this cold, cold world..
I just am thankful for meeting some people who willingly want to give up their life to Jesus, walk with Him and trust their life in Him. They’re such a good inspiration to be followed! With all the time they have, they use it effectifely for God’s sake. They serve The Lord with all their life they can be. I’m so proud to witness that sort of people. I was inspired and intended to follow their steps.
We often forget that the world is looking at us and hoping for something we suppose to give to them. We think that we can use our lives as fun as possible, according to our desire. We forget that we do have obligations to bring out the kingdom of heaven and manifest God’s glory wherever we are. We often get dissapointed when we demand other people’s lives to be good, holy and pleasant while we ourselves get tired to live out that way.
Meeting any inspiring people are such an aha moment for me. From them I can learn to develop my life. Like what I’ve ever told you, I want to improve myself, change my bad habits, follow Jesus with all my life, and no matter what it may takes, I’ll give up my life to Him. I know that He has prepared all the best plan for me, He provides every things I need, and He is powerful to bless me, guide me and walk with me all the time.
Thank you, people. Either those who reveals their faith through their blogs or those who live out the best way of life, I owe million of thank yous for all of you. May God bless you with all the best blessings. Keep up the faith and all the good works, friends. Keep being God’s blessing for anyone around you, cause you never know whom you meet ahead of you..
Don't forget to blog your blessings..
Happy Sunday!
TSMS - You Can Use Anything, Lord
This Saturday I want to post this song 'Use Me', sung by Ron Kenoly. Interested to the lyrics 'If You can use anything Lord, You can use me'. Not sure what's the true title, but I've just remembered this song and get inspired. This is new 'my statement of mission'. If He can use Moses, David, Esther ot many other great names, He can use me, too.
Thank God for choosing me as His beloved one. I just want Him to take my life and make it more valuable..
Here's the video. Enjoy!

Why Is It Hard To Be Yourself?
Honestly, it's often hard to be ourselves, I mean the real us. We like to complain and unsatisfied enough about becoming our real selves. I found this article interesting and inspiring. If you are like me, feel that our selves are often more difficult to be understandable, just check this out..
“He who trims himself to suit everyone will soon whittle himself away.” ~ Raymond Hull
‘Be yourself!’ This is a common piece of advice, often given before an interview or a date or some other occasion when we need to impress. Sounds like a strange piece of advice, though. How could you not be yourself?
Strange at is seems, we have been conditioned all our lives to behave according to other people’s expectations, to dance to their tune, to let them pull our stings. The truth is that most of us – unless we have really thought about it and made an effort to change – are puppets, controlled by the world around us. We crave approval. We need to fit in. In many ways, this is just a characteristic of being human – we are social animals and need to fit into the group to survive. But this natural and healthy tendency has taken over our lives to such an extent that we are often paralyzed by a fear of the outside world and obsessed by how others see us.
But what would things look life if you could really ‘be yourself’?
Don’t give away your power
“The King is angry. See, he gnaws his lip.” ~ Shakespeare, Richard III
It is impossible to really be yourself when you are worried about how other people perceive you. We all care (at least a little bit) what other people think – we have been raised to believe that the approval of others is important. And in some ways it is – other people do have power over us. But the truth is that it doesn’t matter as much as you think; usually it doesn’t matter at all. Sometimes you’ll be flavor of the month; other times you might be public enemy number one. But you cannot control what other people think of you, so why even try?
Let them think what they will. To give the opinions and thoughts of others so much importance is to make your own life a misery. When you stop giving your power away to other people like this, your life will be so much lighter and easier. To genuinely not care what others think is an amazing and enlightening experience. Try it.
Live with integrity
“The great majority of us are required to live a life of constant duplicity. Your health is bound to be affected if, day after day, you say the opposite of what you feel, if you grovel before what you dislike, and rejoice at what brings you nothing but misfortune.” ~ Boris Pasternak
Living with integrity means being an open, honest person. It means saying what you think – not in an arrogant, conceited way, which is usually a sign of an inferiority complex – but because you shouldn’t hide what you believe. If you are not true to yourself – if you are dishonest, if you hide part of yourself, either as a defense mechanism or to get a promotion or make money, you will create what I have heard called an ‘inner darkness,’ and this will haunt you.
In The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, one of the most widely read and influential self-improvement books of all time, Steven Covey writes that truly successful people operate from a principle-centered paradigm, steering their lives by means of a clear compass of integrity. You might be able to succeed in some senses by being dishonest and duplicitous, but in the end you will be unable to face yourself, and if you cannot look in the mirror with a clear conscience, how can you be yourself?
Don’t take yourself so seriously
“When you can laugh at yourself, you are free.” ~ Ted Loder
Will the world stop turning if you screw up? Believe it or not, the world got along fine without you for millions of years, and will do so long after you’re gone. So keep things in perspective. Will any of this matter in a year, ten year, 100 years? In many ways, the world is a ridiculous place, full of crazy things that make no sense at all. You can’t make sense of it all however hard you try. It is what it is, and so are you, with all your contradictions and faults and failings. Remember the old saying: ‘laugh and the world laughs with you.’ So relax, lighten up; don’t get things out of proportion.
Don’t worry: accept things as they are
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.” ~ Buddha
We have a tendency to think we are in control. But the truth is that there are surprisingly few things we can influence directly. I read somewhere recently that life is no about avoiding the storm but about learning to dance in the rain, and I think this is a wonderful truth. We spend so much time trying to change our world, but in reality we can only change ourselves. If the rain is coming, it will come; if the sun is setting, it will set. Accept these many, many things which are outside our control and, whatever comes along, learn not only to live with it, but to embrace it, to love it – to live any other way is madness.
Do what you love
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, don’t let other people tell you what to do and how to live. In the end, you are responsible for your experience of life, and if you don’t follow your dreams, you only have yourself to blame. ‘You’re a long time dead’ as the saying goes, so don’t waste time with worry or regret . Don’t be a puppet – don’t let the world around you pull your strings. You cannot control it, so don’t let it control you either. If you are true to yourself and live with integrity, honesty and without fear, then you will, perhaps, begin to see the answer to that most perplexing of questions: “Who am I?”

A Confession
Nowadays, I've just realized that I have to do something. I have to change, I should improve myself day by day so I don't live just like this. I have to live an intentionally living. I have to live on purpose. To be honest, for so many, many times, I could have just blame anyone around me regarding to my bad habits. (It has always been something like 'oh, this habit runs in my family', or 'oh, nobody has never told me if it was wrong (my bad habit)', or 'they (my family or friends) must be understand. They should take it for granted'). I've never felt guilty or sorry but blaming other people and make excuses, though I knew it definitely was my fault.
Oh my.... how could I?
But I promise to myself to do something better for my future. I have to change!
So, from this day forward...
I'll 'repair' my bad habits
I want to keep up my good works
I want to be more diligent
I want to grow in deeper relationship with God, more and more
I should develop myself in any aspects of my life: health, faith, relationships, attitude, job, ministry in my church, even chore!
I want to love my neighbor and take them just the way they are
Love my hubby more and more
Dedicate my life to something more valuable and eternal rather than anything imperfect and just lasts for 'a little while' in this world.
May God's mercy will always guide me, bless me and be with me through all the journey I am walking.. Please pray for me to be able to do all of my promises above. Because, usually, that thing is much more easier to say than to do.. :).
Blessings to you!
When God Said No
What do you think if God says no?
Please check this out...
God said, No.
It is not for me to take away,
but for you to give it up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a by product of tribulations;
it isn't granted, it is learned.
I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings;
Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from
worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked God for all things
that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life,
so that you may enjoy all things.
I asked God to help me LOVE others,
as much as He loves me.
God said... Ahhhh,
finally you have the idea.

We Are Built for Meaning
We don't want to be benchwarmers. We don't want a life on the sidelines. I don't mind losing, and I don't have to be the star, but I want to be in the game. This desire is a wonderful thing. Our hunger for significance is an indicator of who we are and why we were created. Deeper than our need for food or air or water is our need for meaning, our need to know our lives count for something. That need can get distorted by our egos. It can get sidetracked into narcissism or egotism. But we are built for meaning the way Porsches are built for speed.

Gaining Direction Through a Lack of Provision
I always love the story about Elijah. This is the part I love most about his inspiring life.
Let's read it..
"You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there" (1 Kings 17:4).
The prophet Elijah pronounced a drought upon the land because of the sin of Ahab and the nation of Israel. There was only one problem. Elijah had to live in the same land as Ahab.
"Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, 'As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.' Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah: 'Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there'" (1 Kings 17:1-4).
God provided for Elijah in a supernatural way. The ravens brought bread in the morning and meat in the evening. His water came from the brook.
God often uses money to confirm direction for our lives. Many times God uses a lack of provision to move us into new directions. It is a catalyst to encourage new ideas and strategies. Many times a loss of job becomes the greatest blessing to our lives because it provides the catalyst to do things we simply would never do without taking the step to get out of our comfort zone.
Friend, if you are fully following the Lord in your life and seeking direction from Him and you have no un-confessed sin in your life, there is no way He will allow you to miss His provision for you. He has a thousand ways to get the provision you need at the time you need it. Provision follows obedience.

Unbreakable - The Lyrics
Clap your hands everybody
Clap your hands
Come on, keep it going
Clap your hands everybody
Clap your hands everybody
Clap your hand
Lets do it ,you ready?
Come on
We could fight like Ike and Tina
Or give back like Bill and Camille
Be rich like Oprah and Steadman
Or instead struggle like Flow and James Evans
Cuz he ain't no different from you
And she ain't no different from me
So we got to live our dreams
Like the people on TV
We gotta stay tuned
Cuz there's more to see (Unbreakable)
Through the technical difficulties (Unbreakable)
We might have to take a break
But ya'll know we'll be back next week
I'm singing this love is unbreakable
Oh yeah yeah...
Yeah, clap your hands everybody
Clap your hands everybody
Lets do it like this, come on
See, we could act out like Will and Jada(Will and Jada)
Or like Kimora and Russell makin' paper, oh yeah
All in the family like the Jacksons(like the Jacksons)
And have enough kids to make a band like Joe and Catherine, yeah
She ain't no different from me
And he ain't no different from you
So we got to live our dreams
Like the people on TV
We gotta stay tuned
Cuz there's more to see (Unbreakable)
Through the technical difficulties (Unbreakable)
We might have to take a break
But ya'll know we'll be back next week
I'm singing this love is unbreakable
We're living our dreams...yeah...

Cuz there's more to see (Unbreakable)
Through the technical difficulties (Unbreakable)
We might have to take a break

Obedience Test
"They were left to test the Israelites to see whether they would obey the Lord's commands, which He had given their forefathers through Moses" (Judg. 3:4).
There is a spiritual truth God revealed in the conquest of the Promised Land recorded in Judges chapter 3: "These are the nations the LORD left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan" (Judge 3:1-3).
They didn't pass the test. "The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD; they forgot the LORD their God and served the Baals and the Asherahs" ( Judg 3:7-8).
Martin Luther said there are three things necessary to create a successful minister of God: prayer, meditation, and temptation. You'll really never know the strength and reality of your faith until you experience difficulty in life. You'll never know for sure whether God can be trusted or if you'll fall to temptation.
The apostle Peter thought his faith in Christ was solid until the temptation came to deny Him. Jesus knew Peter was not mature yet and that he would deny Jesus three times in one day. Peter didn't believe it. Sure enough, Peter denied Jesus three times. Peter could not believe he could do such a terrible thing. In order to discover this about himself, he needed to be placed in a situation to reveal his true condition.
God allows circumstances to develop around your life to give your faith opportunity to be proven. It is only when we are tested in battle that we become skilled warriors. You can be confident God will allow trials to come your way through situations like an unreasonable boss, a client who refuses to pay, a false assault on your character, or a difficult relationship that requires unconditional love. These battles are sent your way to test what you know in the mind in order that they might become part of your heart.
If you fail the test, do not be overly concerned. Learn from it and grow through the experience just as Peter did.

My 1st Book!
Guess what? My 1st book!
I was so surprise and happy. But I supposed my future sister in law was much happier than me!
Yeah, this was such a blessing!
Don't know why the editor changed the title. The purpose Driven Teen? Hmm.. probably because The Purpose Driven Life's popularity was still high so they thought that the title will attract more teens to buy the book.
Hopefully.. :)
Please pray for this book. I just hope that my book will always become a blessing for all teens to find themselves in Christ, especially in Indonesia.
Blessings!
One Thing To Never Forget
Your presence, is a present to the world.
You're unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be, what you want it to be.
Take the days, just one at a time.
Count your blessings, not your troubles.
You'll make it through, whatever comes along.
Within you, are so many answers.
Understand, have courage, be strong.
Don't put limits on yourself.
So many dreams, are waiting to be realized.
Decisions are too important, to leave to chance.
Reach for your peak, your goal and your prize.
Nothing wastes more energy, than worrying.
The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets.
Don't take things too seriously.
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
Remember, that a little love goes a long way.
Remember, that a lot of love goes forever.
Remember, that friendship is a wise investment.
Life's treasures, are people... Together.
Realize, that it's never too late.
Do ordinary things, in a extraordinary way.
Have health, hope and happiness.
Take the time, to wish upon a star.
And don't ever forget....
For even a day....
How very special you are.

Be Still
I have no idea why this verse seems to follow me everywhere I go. Whether I read books or blogs, I can hardly believe how many times has this verse come through to me.
Well, I can't understand what are in God's mind in directing my journey, but I just totally believe in Him. I know that He's preparing something beautiful and perfect for my life (though I may not seen it yet). Even, much better than my wildest imaginations!
I just want to learn to believe in Him in everything I face in my life. I know that His plan is not my plan. Mine would be fail some time, but His are immovable and forever. I know that I'm limited but He's strong and in Him, I'll get the strength and power and anything I need to empower me in walking through this journey.
I trust in You, Lord.
Thank You for sending me this verse.
Please, always remind me about Who You are.
I'll just be still and waiting for You..
Time Management
"Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life" (Ps 39:4).
David accomplished a great deal in his lifetime. However, he also understood life had an end to it and he wanted to make the most of it. He learned to use his time wisely. And so should we.
Peter Drucker was a renown management consultant to major corporations and authored many bestselling business books. He suggested three activities that might help busy executives better manage their time.
"First, do not start with the task. Start with your time. Determine where your time is going. Then, attempt to manage that time and cut back unproductive demands on your time. Consolidate your 'discretionary' time into the largest possible continuing time units.Drucker refers to the second step as time management. After listing the activities to which we devote our time, he suggests that we ask three questions about each of these activities to help us minimize the amount of time we waste: "What would happen if this were not done at all?" And if the answer is, 'Nothing would happen,' then obviously the conclusion is to stop doing it. Next, which of the activities on my time log could be done by somebody else just as well, if not better? What do I do that wastes my time without contributing to my effectiveness?*
Drucker closes by saying 'Know Thyself,' this old prescription for wisdom is impossibly difficult for mortal men. But everyone can follow the injunction 'Know Thy Time' if you want to, and be well on the road toward contribution and effectiveness."
Why not evaluate how you are spending your time and ask God how to better use your time.

My New Template!
What do you say? :)
Just confused about my old one. I always viewed it as 3 columns template, but when I opened my blog from my new notebook, I found it definitely was just 2 columns there. The third column (the right side one) was below the main side and, oh my.. it wasn't as beautiful as what I've always seen before.. Ough!
The most surprising was when my friend told me that she always viewed my template like that one (Just 2 column like what I lately viewed). Oh, really? How could it be like that?
Ough...
Hope you like my new template as I do :).
Blessings to you!
